Jarrah Rd, Roleystone 2.0

Tirelessly built by hand in 1979, our clients had only ever carried out minor renovations before; but like many homes of that era, they had long out-grown the most important room in the house – the kitchen. It made entertaining extended family impractical, and Evolution was engaged to help bring back that connection.

As the muster point for so many gatherings, it was pivotal to the brief that the design and materials chosen were complimentary to the original design but in a way that also captured the modern needs of this transient space. With pockets of natural light reminding us constantly of our location, Evolution set about creating a contemporary hub within this home that celebrated life in the picturesque Perth Hills. By removing a dividing wall, allowing for an extensive new island bench space, casual and formal dining spaces and ample storage were realised. With a beautiful dining area to compliment the new kitchen fit for long table lunches and large family feasts, what has resulted is a warm, timeless, and purposeful space fit for a multi-generational family that seamlessly respects this humble home.
